Oval hole Mandolin #142

New black top mandolin with custom Cedar Creek case.  Modiified Brekke bridge and gold engraved James tailpiece, Paua Abalone soundhole rosette and marker dots.  This one is a little different.  The top is made from plantation grown Pinus radiata, and the back is recycled Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans).  Neck is Queensland Maple, Fingerboard is Ebony and the pickguard is Black Walnut.  Sound is smooth and clear with excellent ring and sustain.  This wood combination works surprisingly well.  I think it is one of the best sounding mandolins I have made, I like it.
